SASEANEE Connect is a collaborative consortium of global partners committed to advancing environmental literacy, sustainability education, climate awareness, and community resilience across South and Southeast Asia. Through meaningful partnerships, knowledge exchange, and youth engagement, SASEANEE Connect works to empower individuals and institutions to become active contributors toward a more sustainable and resilient future.
Our network brings together educators, researchers, policymakers, civil society organizations, youth leaders, and sustainability practitioners to foster innovation, dialogue, and collective action on pressing environmental challenges. By creating platforms for collaboration and regional cooperation, we aim to strengthen environmental education and promote practical solutions that address climate change, disaster risk reduction, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development.

Creating Impact through Education, Action.
In 1993, SASEANEE was launched as a workshop by Centre for Environment Education (CEE) in partnership with IUCN CEC to bring organizations and people together to share resources, and experiences for environment education from 16 countries across South and Southeast Asia.
The peepal tree, also known as the tree of enlightenment, is widespread in many parts of the South and Southeast Asia region. It is the leaf of this tree that inspired the development of a character to symbolize the spirit of SASEANEE-PIPLO!
PIPLO equally represents innovativeness of educational approaches that are required to take on the formidable challenges of education and communication for sustainable development.
Theltej Tekra, where the CEE campus is located, was a totally barren hill and the peepal tree which stands at the top of the hill was one of the first to be planted on the campus.
